Every time I see these "Motorcycle Vs. Car" reports... I think, "seriously...? You don't know what's going to happen...? You really think the car is going to beat a liter sport bike... really?".

The Ducati still would have been faster in the corners if the road was totally dry AND if the rider wasn't wearing YAMAHA leathers

The Contact patch is the only thing saving the car from bike domination. Oh, and brakes. Even on a dry track the outcome would be the same. Old story new players. If you look at track records most, if not all, are held by four wheels. Could someone post up some stats?

i think you guys underestimate the skyline, that car does not have just 473hp, its well over 500+, all the electronic gizmos on that thing can make any novice driver look like schumacher. its been quoted by numerous journalists as the most easily driveable everyday supercar for the not so supercar price.
fifth gear and top gear both have had numerous bike vs car segments and they actually go head 2 head, the last one the new then 1098 wheelies outta the last corner and takes the checkered flag on the last segment of track vs a lambo gallardo superklajglaxxxlight version. Cool video nonetheless. but seriously bow down to the skyline. It does everything better for like 1/4 of the price, plus its japanese so u wont loose a arm and leg for maintenance or parts/labor. p.s. either top gear or fifth gear has done a DIRECT comparison from a new cbr1k from its braking abilities, to cornering to acceleration, vs a supercar, and the bike only wins in acceleration. |

i think the new lotus lookalike all electric sports car beats bikes in outright acceleration. I forgot what its called, but its on a elise chasis with DC electric motors. Figures since electricity is a on/off type of current.

QUOTE(fxclm5 @ Dec 19 2008, 07:03 PM) Figures since electricity is a on/off type of current. It's more about the torque. It is continuous with a electric motor. There is no power curve. Tesla: up.

Danny's right. All things being equal, the cars will out do the bikes. For a closer to home example, look at the lap times a nascar can put down at SP versus the fastest bikes that have been there. Not even close. If the outcome is different, then the limits of the drivers are coming into play and not the machinery. -------------------- Sent from mDroid
